When adding line items to a deal in HubSpot, the form displays a set of default properties. If you want to remove certain fields—such as Prorated Amount or Serial Number—you can adjust which properties appear by updating their property group.

Below is a step-by-step guide to modifying the line item form.

Where the Line Item Form Appears

  1. Open a deal record in HubSpot.
  2. Scroll to the Line Items section.
  3. Click Add line item and choose Select from product library.
  4. Select a product and click Edit.

This opens the line item form where users enter details. The fields shown here are controlled by line item property groups.

How to Remove Properties from the Form

If you want to remove specific fields from the line item form:

Step 1: Go to Line Item Properties

  1. Click the Settings icon in HubSpot.
  2. Navigate to Properties.
  3. Select Line item properties.
  4. Click on Groups.

Step 2: Move the Property to a Different Group

Locate the property you want to remove from the form (for example, Serial Number or Prorated Amount).

  • Edit the property.
  • Change its Group to a different property group (such as Product Line Item Information or another group you’ve created).
  • Save your changes.

Repeat this process for each property you want to remove from the form.

Refresh and Confirm

Return to the deal record and refresh the page.

Add a line item again and open the edit screen. The properties you moved to another group will no longer appear on the form.

Key Takeaway

The line item form in HubSpot is controlled by property groups. To remove fields from the form, move those properties to a different group in Line item properties → Groups.

HubSpot continues to expand line item functionality, so additional customization options may become available over time.
